Founded in February 2006, Mobility Public Relations (also known as MoPR) has offices in the Pacific Northwest and Silicon Valley. The company's headquarters are located in Lake Oswego, Oregon, immediately south of Portland.
Each member of the Mobility Public Relations leadership team has worked with businesses from small start-ups to large publicly traded corporations and counseled clients through IPOs, mergers and acquisitions. Having spent years as both a PR agency executive and as a client, John Sidline has learned how to make the big ideas and best practices world of PR agencies thrive within the budget and results driven world of corporate marketing. Beginning his PR career in entertainment and personality publicity, John was also recognized as a political strategist and campaign innovator before settling into high tech PR more than 15 years ago. John drives corporate communications, social media and international PR for Mobility PR clients. Having extensive experience with major financial events including mergers and acquisitions, and public offerings, John possesses a solid understanding of government publicity guidelines and rules, including those in RegFD and Sarbanes Oxley. A leader of successful PR programs at early stage startups, century old Fortune 500 public companies and wide range of companies in between, John drove PR programs for Global Crossing, IBM and iPass and a long list of Internet pioneers, and is very experienced in subject areas ranging from enterprise mobility to IP network and carrier technologies. John has spoken on PR metrics at industry events such as the PRSA International Conference, and has written columns on PR on topics including metrics, financial events and social media.
With a decade of account management experience and a penchant for introducing new products and services into the wireless market, Melissa Burns leads the extensive media relations and launch strategy practices at Mobility Public Relations. Melissa joined Mobility PR from The Hoffman Agency where she led award-winning teams for clients such as Amazon.com, Dolby Laboratories and Hewlett Packard. She is deft at getting to the heart of a company’s value and translating it into targeted messages that spur each important audience into action. Melissa is highly experienced in Wi-Fi, mobile applications and development platforms, mobile content and search engine subject areas, and equally comfortable promoting technology from the most basic mobile apps to the most complex embedded technologies. Melissa has successfully launched myriad mobile technologies, from mobile browsers to in-flight Wi-Fi to VoIP apps, winning her recognition from the Business Marketing Association, League of American Communications Professionals, Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals and the Public Relations Society of America among others for leading strategic communications programs that delivered measurable results.
For 20 years John Gidings has worked closely with reporters, analysts and other influencers in securing PR results that move the needle on business objectives at companies ranging from boot-strapped start-ups to Fortune 100 heavyweights. John’s PR career began inside agencies. He temporarily left agency life as a vice president at Technology Solutions (now Golin Harris), at the time the largest US headquartered technology PR agency, to spend the next decade in various in-house PR roles. John’s varied technology background includes software (application development, object-oriented databases, middleware), hardware (servers, workstations), broadband (cable modems, VoIP) and video technologies and services (video-on-demand, HD, MPEG, transcoding). His notable successes include securing outstanding press and analyst coverage for the launch of NetApp (formerly Network Appliance) which has since grown from an eight person start-up to a publicly traded firm with more than 8,000 employees and $3 billion in revenues. John lends his analyst relations and corporate communications expertise across the Mobility PR client roster. John leads all video technology accounts, and is the only MoPR team member who helped a client win a technology Emmy.
